Join us for a Saturday morning gathering in the garden for the whole family. Local author and illustrator Esme Shapiro will be reading from a selection of her children's books, including "Ooko" and "Alma and the Beast" in the gazebo.Admission is free, but we ask that attendees register on eventbrite so that we know how many visitors to anticipate. We'll be serving coffee and sun tea to those who stop by.

A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Esmé Shapiro is a past recipient of both the Nancy Lee Rhodes Roberts Scholarship and the SILA West 53 Gold Award-Phillip Hayes Scholarship. She has exhibited at The Society of Illustrators and her work has been featured in Taproot, Quill and Quire, and Plansponsor Magazines. Her first book, OOKO, was nominated for a Governor General's Literary Award and was # 1 on the National Post Best Seller's List.
